What's On

Dementia Carers' Cafe

We secured funding from East Lancashire CCG's Prescription for Wellbeing initiative in 2020, to help us provide a Carers' Café for carers of people living with dementia. This ran as a pilot to establish whether there was a need for the group. There was and is a clear need for a group which supports the carers of those living with dementia.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, our Dementia Carers' Café now runs virtually and continues to provide them with information and peer support.

Please see our Carers page for more information.

We recently ran Storybox sessions virtually to keep people connected during the pandemic.

Each sessions had a theme and involved the group creating poems, telling stories, chatting and generally having lots of fun and giggles.

If you would like to join in future sessions, please contact us.

When we are able to meet again in person, you will find that our Craft Groups are friendly and you will be welcomed by our volunteers.

We do all kinds of crafts - knitting, sewing, crochet, making and decorating items, colouring, card making, flower arranging, planting. In our 'Shed' (which isn't just for men!) we work with wood, paint, repair and restore, design and build items.

Sometimes we have a visit from our therapy dog and we have even been visited by a very friendly cart horse!

We would love you to suggest activities that you would like to do.

You can come and join in, or just come for a brew and a chat. If you would like to bring some craft of your own, please do.

We don't turn anyone away, but ask that if you're able, you donate £2 per session to help us with our room hire, refreshment and materials costs.

Oh and we always have cake!

All group meetings are currently suspended due to Covid restrictions and will resume once it is safe to meet.
